Roger
Sanchez has been a part of the house scene for
so long that an introduction seems unnecessary.
He has been a DJ for 20 years, since he was 13,
at places like the Tunnel and his own seminal
Ego Trip in NYC; and a producer and remixer whose
work with Strictly Rhythm helped make the label
the last word in US house and who personally is
credited with giving NY house a rougher, edgier
sound. He’s also one of the dance community’s
true gentlemen.
He has just released his new album, First Contact
. It’s been at least three years in the
making, primarily because Sanchez wanted to give
it the feel of an album, rather than a collection
of singles or disconnected moments. Like the album,
Sanchez’s set at MM03 should take the audience
through a range of moods, sounds and feelings.
And despite the size of the Arena, he’ll
make you feel like he’s playing just to
you. “I burn incense. I light candles. I
try to make the booth a little temple. A bit more
of a home.” And guess what – you’re
all invited.

Billy
Nasty has been DJing half his life, and spent
ten years on the world circuit as a professional
spinner. He has played at some of the biggest
dance events on the planet, and consistently stars
in the upper regions of DJ Magazine’s Top
100 DJs Poll. He has enjoyed a busy recording
career, formed a seminal techno label to match
his DJing success, and set up his own DJ agency
to bring nurtured talent to the world. An early
champion of the progressive sound in the early
90's, Billy matured to a harder, more refined
techno sound in 1995 and hasn't looked back since.
His Tortured record label is a testament to his
musical ear and has nurtured powerhouse talents
such as Adam Beyer, Marco Carola, Ignition Technician,
Space DJz, Umek and many other hot European DJ/Producers

Making
waves in the West Coast's Underground music culture
is internationally acclaimed'Mars' (A.K.A. Michael
Adam RobbinS) of Frequency 8. Mars has helped
create roots for a new sound, Cybertrance, first
in Germany, secondly in San Francisco, and the
world.
Beginning with an ideal of furthering consciousness
through trance music, Mars, with friend and partner
Mystre (A.K.A. Eric Newman), created Frequency
8 (F-8) or Fate. Initially the movement began
as a production company, which created and promoted
events focused entirely on this then new sound
'Cybertrance'. The next step was to establish
a home base and outlet for Trance music to reach
the public, especially in San Francisco, where
house music dominated the scene. F-8 fostered
Cybertrance in a tightly knit rave community.
Growing stronger, popularity and a steadily growing
following lifted it up into the massive scene
where it became and currently is the most prominent
sound in the Bay Area. Mars opened Frequency 8
the record store and it became the first electronica
shop dedicated to the Cybertrance movement in
America. Since the initial opening in San Francisco,
F-8 has spread to Seattle, and Los Angeles.
