Marky
(Brasil / Movement / UK)
Although only 28, DJ Marky is already
a veritable superstar. Marky began
making a name for himself in the early
90’s pioneering the sounds of
UK Drum & Bass/Jungle, appealing
to lovers of dance music of all styles
for his sheer artistry on a pair of
Technics 1210’s. He is undoubtedly
one of the most exciting DJs to emerge
in the drum & bass world in the
last few years. With his phenomenal
technical skills and Brazilian flair,
his enthusiasm and dedication and
the effort he puts into his sets he
has impressed clubbers and music industry
alike.
XRS
(Brasil / Movement / UK)
XRS (Xerxes) started producing at
the beginning of the 1990's after
being influenced by late 1980’s
electronic music such as Acid House
and Techno/Hardcore. In 1993, he started
working as a DJ in a very eclectic
club called ‘Aeroanta’
where he played musical styles from
dub reggae to MPB/Bossanova. In the
studio, XRS’s target was Jungle
where he developed his first project
with underground tracks such as Boom-Man
and Power To The People which were
played by Drum and Bass DJs such as
Andy, Marky and DJ Patife in local
parties. Presently XRS is very busy
making his long-awaited album with
DJ Marky, whilst engineering and remixing
various artists including the legendary
Gilberto Gil – Dia Do Sol has
been played by Fabio on Radio One
and looks like being the follow-up
to the UK Top 20 smash-hit LK (which
XRS produced alongside DJ Marky &
Stamina MC).
AK1200
(Planet Of The Drums/FL)
Orlando based AK1200 is unquestionably
one of the United States' top drum
n' bass DJs. His stellar mix CDs on
the Moonshine label, incessant touring,
as well as remixes of critically acclaimed
acts including Crystal Method, A Tribe
Called Quest, and Dub Pistols have
helped build AK1200 into one of the
US's premier electronic artists.
Shimon
(Ram Records/UK)
Shimon has made quite a name for himself
over the years as part of the Ram
Records crew. It all began in 1993
with his track ‘Quest’
on Andy C's fantastic Ram Records
label. He then joined Andy and Ant
Miles for further tracks and for stunning
releases as Ram Trilogy. But his biggest
success came when he collaborated
with Ram Records label boss, Andy
C. for the single “BodyRock”,
which proved to be a smash hit in
the Uk’s top 30.
Ming
& FS (Madhattan Studos
/ NYC)
The inimitable production/DJ duo Ming
+ FS return with their grab bag of
genre-crushing beats and breaks on
Back to One. Never regarded as one-trick
ponies, the Hells Kitchen residents
push the boundaries of their hip-hop/drum
& bass hybrid, peppering it with
moody funk and atmospheric electronics.
Blistering breakbeat workouts make
way for hazy head-nodders and psychedelic
jungle rollers, sometimes within the
same track.
MCMC
(Grapevinez, History, UK) is one of
the drum and bass scenes leading MCs
with over a decades experience commanding
the mic at some of the biggest events
worldwide.
